Cleveleys Frilly Pig Bistro in 'world's top ten percent of restaurants' in TripAdvisor Awards 2026

“We try and make everything as authentic as possible.”

A popular Cleveleys bistro has been awarded a coveted TripAdvisor award purely based on customer reviews.

It came as a shock for the owner of Frilly Pig Bistro, on Victoria Road West, it wasn’t an award of nomination or application and at first, Sandra Byrne wasn’t completely sure of its high importance.

“I just received a random email and I didn’t really know what it was - but when I printed it out, I realised it was a world wide recognition based on customer reviews.”

It was something Sandra needed to shout about - her gorgeous, home-from-home style eatery had received prestigious recognition, for the first time ever stating her bistro was among the top ten per cent of restaurants in the world.

The TripAdvisor awarded stated: “Each year, we recognize travellers’ favourite businesses around the world, based on reviews and ratings collected over 12 months. You scored a spot at the top thanks to their reviews - congrats on your win!”

The bistro opened in December 2024 and prides itself on home-cooked food, delicious proven recipes that work time and time again.

“Only the other day a man popped his head round the door and said our Sunday roast was the best he had ever had - especially the Yorkshire puddings - and he gave us a £10 tip!” said Sandra.

“That’s the best praise you can get.”

Frilly Pig Bistro is located in the heart of Cleveleys - a town centre currently going through a regeneration of its own in terms of restaurants, bars and night life.

“I’ve always said more eateries, the better,” said Sandra, “people can enjoy good food and enjoy drinks, a get-together, a dance if they want to and Cleveleys is thriving.

“We are independent and pride ourselves on home cooked food. We know exactly what goes into our recipes, everything is cooked from scratch and we can try to adapt them to suit people, or if they have allergies.

They do parties, bottomless brunch and the summer specials - Street Mezes, Tex Mex and Tapas were a massive hit. They will be back in the spring. In the meantime it’s the favourite Sunday roasts. “They have gone through the roof!” said Sandra.

Many of Sandra’s recipes are ones she has cooked for years, some are passed down, others have evolved and she follows on-line trends with her own twists on the recipes.

“We try and make everything as authentic as possible,” she added.
