Legendary Hollywood actor Dame Harriet Walter visits Blackpool Tower Ballroom with RSC
The English actress has enjoyed a long career on both screen and stage, during which she won one Olivier Award.
The Blackpool Tower played host to some special guests earlier this week when Succession star Dame Harriet Walter and the Royal Shakespeare Company visited the iconic Tower Ballroom.
Dame Walter and the RSC are preparing to start their performances of Julias Cesar, and made sure to pop into Blackpool as part of their preparations.
A spokesperson for Blackpool Tower thanked the group for visiting and said that the visit was a reminder of Blackpool’s importance to the entertainment industry: “A very special visit to The Blackpool Tower Ballroom! We were delighted to welcome Dame Harriet Walter and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s cast of Julius Caesar to our iconic Ballroom!

“And what better time to celebrate, as Blackpool has officially been shortlisted as one of the final four places in the running to become UK City of Culture 2029!
“From world-class performances to iconic venues like The Blackpool Tower Ballroom, our town has a proud history of entertaining the nation, and we couldn't be prouder to be part of it!
“Here's to celebrating everything that makes Blackpool so special. Let's bring UK City of Culture 2029 home, show your support and help bring the title to Blackpool.”
