'Don't come after my mate' - Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon defends friend Cheryl Cole in Blackpool
“You don’t come after a mate of mine.”
Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon was forced to come to the defence of her mate Cheryl Cole during auditions in Blackpool after an impressionist mocked her friend’s singing ability .
The moment unfolded during auditions for the 20th series of the ITV talent show, when contestant Cameron performed an impression that included a dig at Cheryl’s singing. Dixon, who recently teamed up with Cheryl on ITV’s The Voice, made her feelings clear by hitting her buzzer midway through the act.
Explaining her decision after the performance, the judge said: “You don’t come after a mate of mine.” The exchange took place as the talent show filmed auditions in Blackpool for its upcoming series.

Dixon and Cheryl have recently worked together on The Voice, with Cheryl replacing Tom Jones as a coach and Dixon taking over as presenter from Emma Willis.
The new series of The Voice was filmed last month, and both it and Britain’s Got Talent are due to air in 2027.
While contestants on Britain’s Got Talent are accustomed to facing criticism from show boss Simon Cowell, the Blackpool audition demonstrated Dixon’s willingness to make her views known when an act targets someone close to her.
