Fylde coast legend Rick Clements has put himself forward for the Manchester United manager job, claiming his ‘credentials speak for themselves’.
Rick is secretary of the Manchester United Disabled Supporters' Association and has campaigned to improve accessibility for disabled football supporters.
An army veteran, Rick lost both legs and part of his right arm after stepping on a Taliban improvised explosive device (IED) in Afghanistan in 2010.
Since then, he has given countless motivational speeches and pep talks. Because of these credentials, Rick has put himself forward for the seemingly impossible Manchester United managerial job.

He said: “OFFICIAL: I’m throwing my hat in the ring for the Manchester United manager’s job. My credentials speak for themselves:
“I’ve managed once at Old Trafford — won 10–1. That’s a 100% win record. Pep can only dream. I’ve delivered team talks to both the Manchester United and Blackpool first teams, both went on to comfortably win their next games. Coincidence? I’ll let you decide.
“I also have an extensive trophy cabinet on FIFA and Championship Manager. Decades of elite-level tactical experience from the comfort of my own home.

“My philosophy is simple: Every player will run onto that pitch as if they’re taking bullets for the bloke next to them. Work, fight and sacrifice yourself for the greater good of the team.
