Major Blackpool zoo announcement over dangerous Storm Beolo weather
Storm Beolo has caused chaos overnight.
Blackpool Zoo has announced that it will be closed today for the ‘safety of visitors’ as Storm Beolo continues to batter the Fylde coast.
The zoo made the announcement confirming their closure today just before 9am.
A spokesperson for Blackpool Zoo said that they made the decision due to the ‘safety of visitors, staff and animals’, adding that they apologise for the inconvenience and disruptions to plans.
There has been widespread chaos across the Fylde coast overnight, with strong winds damaging illuminations, blowing off signs and knocking trees into roads. The North Pier has confirmed that it closed all entertainment venues last night.
The playbarn will remain open as normal today.
Visitors who already bought tickets will receive refund information via email over the next couple of days, the zoo said.
