Blackpool defender opens up on Bloomfield Road mood ahead of Plymouth Argyle test
Blackpool drew 2-2 with Bromley at Bloomfield Road on Saturday afternoon.
Blackpool defender Olly Casey admits there’s been mixed emotions at Bloomfield Road so far this season.
The Seasiders started the campaign with seven points from their opening three games - with results including an impressive 2-1 victory away to Stockport County and a big 4-0 win over Peterborough United at home.
In the three outings since the big scoreline against The Posh, only one additional point has come the way of Ian Evatt’s side.
A controversial winner for Barnsley saw Blackpool come away from Oakwell with a 2-1 loss, while a few days later an underwhelming display against Reading at the Select Cars Leasing Stadium resulted in a 3-1 defeat in Berkshire.
There wasn’t much improvement on Saturday afternoon against Bromley on the Fylde Coast, with the Seasiders giving up two winning positions in the 2-2 draw against League One’s early season strugglers.

Despite the recent blip, Casey believes there’s plenty to build on ahead of a meeting with Plymouth Argyle this weekend.
“It’s been alright, we obviously started really well, but then there’s been games like today,” he said.
“Barnsley away was controversial, but we probably didn’t deserve anything against Reading to be honest.
“There’s been mixed emotions from the start, but we’ve got loads more to give throughout the season.
“It’s frustrating, but it’s on us now to put another good run together to get back up the table. If you sit back and dwell on it when you’ve got games coming up then there’s going to be trouble.
“We’ll analyse what we could’ve done better (against Bromley) but then it’s straight onto Plymouth. Games come thick and fast, and we need to be ready.”
Evatt’s Blackpool appointment came just under 11 months ago, at a time where the Seasiders were struggling at the bottom end of the third tier.
“We’ve come a long way,” Casey added.
“Since the gaffer’s come in with a new formation and a new way of playing, the whole feeling has been a lot better.
“I think this season we will prove that we’re a really good team.”
