‘You were loved’ - Tributes paid to “beautiful” 16-year-old twin from Wesham who died suddenly

A heartbroken dad has paid tribute to his “beautiful” 16-year-old son who has tragically passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Cohen Mahmood, who lived in Wesham, sadly passed away on October 7 leaving behind his mum, dad, twin brother Calvin and younger sister Cheyenne.

His devastated father Anthony Mahmood from Blackpool said: “As his father, there are simply no words that can describe the heartbreak of losing a child. No parent ever imagines having to say goodbye to their son so young, with his whole life still ahead of him.
“Cohen was more than just my son. He was a brother, a grandson, and a young lad who meant so much to the people around him. His passing has left a space in our family that can never be filled.”
Much-loved Cohen was born prematurely, weighing little more than a bag of sugar. He lived with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, chronic lung disease, significant learning difficulties and other complex medical needs.

The 43-year-old said: “During this incredibly difficult time, I want to do something positive in his memory.
“I have created this fundraiser to help support Cohen’s family as they come to terms with this heartbreaking loss and the unexpected financial pressures that come with losing someone so young.
“Our initial goal is to raise £1,000, but every single donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.
“If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean the world to us.
“No amount of money will ever bring my son back, but perhaps together we can ease some of the burden on those he has left behind.
“Rest peacefully, Cohen You were loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.”

Reflecting on Cohen's close bond with his twin, Anthony said: "Cohen and Calvin shared an incredibly close bond.
“They grew up together, were rarely apart and even finished each other’s sentences. Losing Cohen has been devastating for the entire family, particularly his twin brother.
“Every penny raised will be transferred to Cohen’s mum to help ease the financial pressures she is facing following Cohen’s passing.
“I am not asking for anything for myself. My only intention is to help our family through an incredibly difficult period."
