Blackpool Airport is inviting applications for a trainee position in air traffic engineering, offering a starting salary of £29,500 and the opportunity to earn up to £47,500 as training milestones are achieved.
The Trainee Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) role is open to candidates with a Level 3 qualification in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) subject, a full UK driving licence and a willingness to learn new skills.
Successful applicants will join the airport’s Air Traffic Engineering Team and receive structured training over a programme lasting up to three years, working towards a full ATSEP qualification. The opportunity is aimed at people taking their first steps into working life, those looking for a new challenge or individuals hoping to transfer skills gained in another industry. Blackpool Airport said the focus was on applicants’ potential and enthusiasm to learn.
Alongside the starting salary of £29,500, the role offers structured pay progression up to £47,500 as employees achieve key training milestones towards their full qualification. The benefits package also includes generous annual leave plus bank holidays, health cover, professional training and development opportunities, and a pension scheme.
