Freckleton pub The Plough set to close for major transformation that will be 'best ever'

“We genuinely cannot wait to show you the finished result.”

The Plough in Freckleton is closing its doors for a three week ‘transformation’ just in time for Christmas.

Work starts on Monday November 9 and the owners say after an incredible first year, they are getting ready for the biggest overhaul ever.

The refurbishment will see a brand-new dining area with more space to enjoy the pub’s homemade food and a beautiful new fireplace for cosy pub evenings throughout the winter.

Brand new carpets, furniture and fresh decor, completely refurbished toilets and an upgraded sports area with a pool table, darts and bigger screens are among the most important changes but there will be plenty more surprises along the way.

Owners Myrian and Christian said: “When we first took over The Plough, our dream was to create somewhere the whole community could feel at home.

“Thanks to the incredible support over the past year, we’re now able to take that dream one step further.”

Although The Plough will be closed for a while, its sister pub The Lane Ends in Wesham will remain open.

“You’ll still be able to enjoy all of our amazing homemade, freshly cooked food, prepared with the same love and care you know from The Plough.

“Whether it’s a lovely family meal, a cosy lunch or one of our traditional Sunday roasts, we’ll be delighted to see you there.”

Diners can also pick up a flyer from The Plough to enjoy 10% off their food bill at The Lane Ends from November 9.

“We genuinely cannot wait to show you the finished result.”

The owners took over the well-known venue last year, and kitted the pub out with an initial refurbishment - but they had even bigger ideas for the pub’s vibe.

They took the leap after five years working at The Lane Ends in Wesham to bring their own vision to the village, combining experience, passion and a love of pubs with a commitment to excellent food and community spirit.

The refurbishment refreshed the interior while maintaining the traditional charm of the pub.

They said at the time they were thrilled to take on the new adventure and the official opening celebrations featured complimentary tasters and nibbles, along with live music from Ian Sax, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for locals.
