I want my new bar to be a relaxing and luxurious place to enjoy a drink

“This is going to be a lovely, calming space that will give that real relaxing feeling to people. I think it could be quite a nice place to come out with the girls, for date night or just after work. It's that kind of comfortable space.”

A new wine and cocktail bar has launched on the Fylde coast, promising to bring a ‘relaxing’ yet ‘luxurious’ vibe.

Bevs Wine Bar, of Beacon Retail Park, Catterall, opened its doors for the first time on Thursday. The new venue is open every week, Thursday through Sunday, and is adults only.

Owner Niamh Taylor will run Bevs with her husband, Wes, alongside their two other businesses; one of which is the Brockholes Arms pub, which is also located in Catterall.

Niamh says that she wants to create a luxurious space where couples and groups of friends can relax. “We wanted to bring something a little bit new to the area,” she told the Gazette.

“This is going to be a lovely, calming space that will give that real relaxing feeling to people. I think it could be quite a nice place to come out with the girls, for date night or just after work. It's that kind of comfortable space.”

“We want it to feel luxurious, to feel like a place where you want to be, but without being pretentious. What we want to bring is a really high-quality offering. Everything that we do, we want to do really well.”

Bevs’ menu features an extensive selection of wines, as well as cocktails, beers and soft drinks. Niamh hinted at a possible menu expansion in the future, explaining that she wanted to get things right ahead of being overly-ambitious.

“For opening, it was really important for us to get everything perfected, meaning everything's standardised and everything's going out exactly as we want it every time. We would rather start small than expand.

“We are over the moon with how constant the response has been, and we think that it's a place that people really wanted to be open. It's done well previously, and we're hoping we do just as well.”
