Fleetwood Town odds for Carabao Cup glory slashed after Arsenal giant-killing at Highbury
Fleetwood Town have made headlines across the globe.
Fleetwood Town have seen their odds of winning the Carabao Cup cut from 200/1 to 80/1 following their shock victory over Premier League champions Arsenal.
The Fylde coast side, currently 18th in League Two, have emerged as unlikely contenders for the competition after their giant-killing performance, with bookmaker William Hill reporting a handful of bets on the club to go all the way.
Widely regarded as one of if not the greatest in Fleetwood Town’s history, last night’s victory against Arsenal has propelled the into headlines across the world.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Fleetwood Town pulled off one of the great cup football shocks last night, dumping Premier League champions Arsenal out of the Carabao Cup, and the side currently in 18th place in League Two will now be dreaming of a big quarter-final clash.
“On the back of their giant killing, we’ve slashed The Fishermen’s price to go all the way and win the competition to 80/1. They were 200/1 prior to their clash with the Gunners at Highbury Stadium, and as big as 250/1 before a ball was kicked in this year’s competition.
“A handful of punters are living the dream with Fleetwood, as we’ve seen several bets on the Lancashire side to go all the way at 200/1.”
The dramatic victory has prompted a significant change in Fleetwood’s outright price, with the club now available at 80/1 to lift the trophy, having previously been priced at 200/1 ahead of their meeting with Arsenal and as long as 250/1 before the competition began.
William Hill said several bettors backed Fleetwood at 200/1, giving them the prospect of a substantial return should the League Two side continue their unexpected cup run.
