Premier League champions Arsenal land at Blackpool Airport ahead of Fleetwood Town EFL Cup tie
The Premier League champions Arsenal have arrived on the Fylde coast after landing at Blackpool Airport ahead of their EFL Cup tie with Fleetwood Town tonight.
The Gunners chartered a Boeing 737 from London Luton Airport this morning and landed in Blackpool at 11.57am.
Arsenal’s usual travel arrangements were disrupted by last night’s Ballon D’or ceremony in London, forcing them to travel on the day of the game, rather than the night before. The Cod Army will be hopeful that this plays into their hands and that Arteta’s men are weary from the 250-mile trip.

A number of fans were waiting outside Blackpool Airport to greet the Arsenal squad, with players signing autographs and posing for pictures before being quickly whisked away on the team’s coach.
Tonight’s historic game will kick off at 8pm and is live on Sky Sports Main Event. Fleetwood will be hopeful of producing one of the biggest upsets in EFL Cup history against a side that was nominated for the Men’s Best Team in the World award at last night’s Ballon D’or ceremony.
