Blackpool FC transfer deadline day - live updates

Key Events

  • Seasiders have until 11pm to complete their business
  • Josh Bowler to stay despite Forest and Bournemouth interest
  • Failed bids for Cameron Brannagan and Ollie Norburn
  • Bez Lubala completes loan move to Northampton, Joe Nuttall joins Scunthorpe

11.40am: The latest on Ollie Norburn

Peterborough have reportedly opened talks to re-sign Reece Brown for a third time.

It’s considered likely the midfielder, who is currently on the books of Huddersfield Town, would be a replacement for Ollie Norburn should he make the move to Bloomfield Road.

Brown previously had two loan spells at Peterborough in the second half of the 201/20 season and for the entire 2020/21 campaign.

Darren Ferguson’s side are also in for Jon Nolan, who is set to be released by his contract at Ipswich Town.

11.30am: The Bowler conundrum

Nottingham Forest are the side to have shown the most interest in Josh Bowler this month, but that’s since quietened down in recent days. The latest reports suggest they’re focussing more heavily on Millwall’s Jed Wallace.

As for Fulham, they could lose winger Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool, but it’s understood any deal would involve the 19-year-old staying at Craven Cottage on loan until the end of the season. Is Carvalho stays, it seems unlikely they’d want Bowler as well.

As for Bournemouth, they look close to sealing a deal for Peterborough’s Siriki Dembele rather than going all out for Bowler.

So while a lot can change, it all seems relatively promising for the Seasiders as it currently stands.

It’s all calm at Bloomfield Road at the moment, so there’s not a great deal to update.

We’re still awaiting confirmation of Joe Nuttall’s move to Scunthorpe, while it’s understood one or two younger players could head out on loan today.

Things will inevitably heat up as the day goes on, you’d imagine.

11.10am: Expect to hear news on Cameron Brannagan soon

Oxford boss Karl Robinson is taking part in his pre-match press duties today ahead of his side’s game against Wigan tomorrow night, so it’s expected he’ll provide an update on the Cameron Brannagan speculation.

11am: What is happening elsewhere in the Championship?

Clubs throughout the second tier are scrambling to get deals across the line before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

10.30am: What business have the Seasiders done so far this month?

Initially touted to be a fairly muted month, it’s turned out to be a busy month of transfer business so far for the Seasiders, with plenty of ins and outs.

Nottingham Forest have shown strong interest in the winger all month and have seen bids knocked back.

However, it emerged over the weekend that Fulham and Bournemouth are also preparing offers before the window closes at 11pm tonight.

Ironically, Bowler scored Blackpool’s goal against Fulham on Saturday during their 1-1 draw - the second time he has scored against the Cottagers this season.

Blackpool have submitted a last-ditch bid for Oxford United midfielder Cameron Brannagan, according to reports.

Football Insider is reporting that the Seasiders have lodged an improved offer for the 25-year-old, who has been Blackpool' s top target this month.

According to our colleagues at the Oxford Mail, Pool's bid is higher than the one they submitted earlier in the window, thought to be north of £500,000, but still six figures.

It's unclear whether Jordan Thorniley, who was recalled from his loan spell at the Kassam, is part of the deal.

It comes after Brannagan scored four penalties for the U's on Saturday in their 7-2 thrashing of Gillingham.

Speaking after the game, the central midfielder appeared to reaffirm his commitment to Karl Robinson's side.
