Blackpool squad news V Wigan Athletic: One out and two hopeful
Blackpool travel to the Brick Community Stadium to take on Wigan Athletic this afternoon (K.O. 12.30pm).
Blackpool face Wigan Athletic in their final away outing of 2025.
The Seasiders have picked up four points from their last two games, and will be looking to build on that to push their way up the League One table heading into the latter stages of the calendar year.
On the back of a 3-0 victory away to Rotherham United, a comeback was required at Bloomfield Road last weekend to draw 2-2 with Lincoln City – with both Lee Evans and Ashley Fletcher finding the back of the net.
In the last few weeks James Husband, Danny Imray, Albie Morgan, Josh Bowler and Dale Taylor have all returned from injury to boost Ian Evatt’s squad options - and that situation is set to ease further in the next few weeks.
Here’s the latest injury news:
Olly Casey

Olly Casey has been absent for Blackpool’s last two games due to an abdominal fascia injury, the he is expected to be back in action for the meeting with Wigan.
Michael Ihiekwe

Michael Ihiekwe was taken off at half time against Lincoln, with an issue being flagged after the match.
“He’s struggling with a toe injury at the moment, the same toe issue we’re trying to manage him through,” Evatt explained at the time.
“He was excellent on Wednesday. Michael being Michael, and with Olly (Casey) being out, he wanted to give it a go. We needed a more physical back line because of the direct balls and how big they are.
“Michael put his hand up to do it, and I give him great credit for doing that, but it was pretty sore in the first half so we had to make the change.”
Despite his early exit last weekend, Ihiekwe should be available for selection if required.
Niall Ennis

Niall Ennis is still behind his teammates who have recently returned to action, but could be looking at being back in training at some stage during the festive period
The striker has been out since the Seasiders’ away meeting with Bradford City at the end of September due to an achilles problem.
Providing an update on Ennis last week, Evatt said: “I can’t give you a definitive date for when he returns. He’s progressing but it was quite a bad injury he had and they do take time. The blood flow to that area is very slow so it takes longer to heal. We just need to be patient.”
