Blackpool FC boss shares delight following reunion with Charlton Athletic 'pressing monster'

Karoy Anderson has returned to Blackpool on a permanent basis.

Ian Evatt states it was important for Blackpool to get Karoy Anderson back to Bloomfield Road - and believes it demonstrates the intent of the club.

The midfielder has penned a four-year deal, including a 12-month option, with the Seasiders after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Charlton Athletic on the back of his successful loan spell in the second half of last season.

Towards the end of the campaign in particular, the 21-year-old was among the players to step up, and became a key figure in Tangerine.

The Jamaica international’s work off the ball in particular was so impressive, he earned the title ‘pressing monster’ from his head coach.

Discussing Anderson’s Blackpool return, Evatt told the club’s in-house media: “It’s been no secret that we wanted to bring Karoy back to the club as soon as last season finished.

“It’s taken a bit of time to get the deal over the line, but I’m delighted to be able to work with Karoy again as he was a major reason for our fine form at the back end of last season.

“It’s a real show of intent from Simon (Sadler) and the club to bring someone of Karoy’s talent in on a permanent and long-term deal and I can’t wait to see him playing in tangerine once again.”
