Major Blackpool Council update on roadworks starting today - what you need to know including lane closures

Utility works to begin today.
Essential gas mains replacement works are expected to begin today on North Park Drive and Newton Drive, Blackpool Council has reminded motorists.
A lane closure will be in place northbound on North Park Drive, heading towards Newton Drive, between 9.30am and 2.30pm from Monday to Friday. The closure forms part of a programme of utility works running from 14 September to 30 October.
Several junctions with Newton Drive will also be subject to rolling closures during the works.
These are:
- Parkway junction
- Alwood Avenue
- Albion Avenue
- Milton Avenue
- St Clement’s Avenue
Motorists are being advised to plan their journeys ahead wherever possible. Blackpool Council has thanked road users for their patience while the works are carried out.
