Get set to dust off your lightsabres for a new free Comic Con event to be held in St Annes

“We are beyond thrilled to invite everyone to step through the portal and experience St Annes as you’ve never seen it before”

St Annes is to host its first Comic Con.

The St Annes Multiverse 2027 has been scheduled for next June and will offer pop culture fans the opportunity to grab their lightsabres and set their coordinates for the event organised by St Annes Town Council in partnership with Rebel Trading Events and Red Wizard Adventures.

It will take place across the weekend of June 12 and 13 and see the town morph into a full-blown Comic-Con meets immersive pop-culture festival.

Features will include a Viking Invasion, complete with an immersive Viking encampment; a Sci-Fi and Superhero Town Centre Takeover, with town centre locations packed with iconic sci-fi vehicles, legendary props, and larger-than-life character encounters from Marvel, DC, and Star Wars plus a collectibles market, photo opportunities and guests.

Local businesses are being encouraged to get in on the action with themed food and drink and window displays and St Annes town mayor Cllr Cheryl Little said: “We are beyond thrilled to invite everyone to step through the portal and experience St Annes as you’ve never seen it before.

“Whether you’re a lifelong sci-fi fan, a lover of history and fantasy, or just looking for an unforgettable weekend by the coast, the Multiverse is designed to spark your imagination and bring our community together in a whole new dimension.

“Get ready for an epic adventure right here in St Annes.”

Cllr Karen Harrison, who chairs the Town Council’s Community and Neighbourhood Committee, added: “Long before the sci-fi portals and alternate dimensions were ever imagined, the Fylde was shaped by the fierce tides of history, lore, and Viking heritage.

“Valhalla meets the cosmos, and you won’t want to miss it.”

The event will be free to attend and will follow the success of the first Comic Con event held at Lytham’s Lowther Pavilion earlier this month.

Neighbouring Blackpool has been a popular location for Comic Con events over the years, with the most recent one held at the Norbreck Castle hotel in April.
