Blackpool-born Celeb Hunted star Jordan Wylie suffers horrific leg injury in build up to Mount Everest summit

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling depressed and low.”

Blackpool-born adventurer and Celebrity Hunted star Jordan Wylie has suffered a major setback in his ‘Xtreme Everest’ plans after suffering a horrific leg injury.

In a post shared on Instagram, the Fylde coast native confirmed he had suffered a serious injury in the build up to his gruelling Everest summit in 2028. Wylie plans to travel from the Dead Sea- the lowest point on Earth- thousands of miles overland through the Middle East and Asia before eventually attempting to summit Mount Everest.

Wylie said “MRI scans, X-rays, physios and specialists. Quadriceps tendinopathy, a fractured ankle and torn ligaments, it’s fair to say this week hasn’t gone to plan. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling depressed and low.

“I’m frustrated and disappointed, but the road to Xtreme Everest was never going to be easy. For now, my mountain is recovery: listening to the specialists, committing to rehabilitation and taking it one day at a time.

“Everest remains the ultimate goal and luckily time is on my side at present. This is a setback and I will be back stronger very soon, I promise. Resilience is revealed when everything is against us, yet we still choose to keep moving forward.”

The Everest challenge was set up by Wylie in an attempt to raise £250,000 for the Army Cadet Charitable Trust. Over £90,000 has already been raised by the team during previous challenges and events.
