Mikey Moon's health and fitness column: Planning for the festive season

A plan of what you are going to do is so important for where you are going to be in the next few months.

Everyone wants to lose weight but it is finding the importance of little steps along the way.

I always tell my clients to set dream goals. They might seem unrealistic at the time and they are if you only focus on that goal.

However, if you think about a goal logically, you can begin to break it down into smaller, more achievable steps.

Let’s say you wanted to lose two stone before a wedding in July.

Two stone is a big, stressful number, but realistically, it is 30 weeks until July and only 28 pounds to lose.

This is fewer than one pound per week, anyone can lose a pound a week.

That number is an average because, trust me, it won’t work where you’ll lose a pound a week consistently; the body just doesn’t work that way.

What we have done is broken down your huge goal into a small, achievable one. Chances are you will probably achieve that goal before July.

Set big goals and make them as unrealistic as you want, but design small steps to get you to those places.
