Pond landed awkwardly in Fleetwood’s 3-2 FA Cup second round come back victory over Shrewsbury on Tuesday night and had to be substituted as a precaution. But the skipper has shaken off the knock and retains his place in the starting line-up.

Pond partners Cian Bolger in a flat back four as Rosler shifts from a 3-5-2 wing-back formation ton 4-3-3.

Rosler makes three changes to the side that tamed the Shrews on Tuesday with David Ball, Ash Hunter and George Glendon all recalled to the starting XI with Eggert Jonsson and Joe Davis moving to the bench and Jack Sowerby misses out due to a suspected hamstring injury.

Due to injuries to Sowerby, Jimmy Ryan (foot) and Kyle Dempsey (leg) striker Ball is playing out of position on the right of a midfield three.

The big news for Swindon is that their skipper Nathan Thompson has recovered from a hamstring injury and returns to the starting line-up.
