Squires Gate and AFC Blackpool find out their first month's fixtures

Squires Gate and AFC Blackpool know their opponents in the opening weeks of the 2022/23 North West Counties Football League season.

It starts on Saturday, July 30, so the NWCFL has published fixtures for that day as well as all of August.

Gate begin their Premier Division campaign with a home game against AFC Liverpool.

Next up is a trip to Charnock Richard on Tuesday, August 2 (7.45pm) with the following Saturday, August 6, the date of the FA Cup extra preliminary round.

Irlam are Gate’s next visitors on Wednesday, August 10 (7.45pm) before Luke Evans’ players travel to Litherland REMYCA on Saturday, August 13.

The following midweek sees another home game, this time against Padiham on Wednesday, August 17 (7.45pm), before the FA Cup preliminary round is played on Saturday, August 20.

Prestwich Heys is Gate’s next destination on Tuesday, August 23 (7.45pm) with the FA Vase first qualifying round then taking place on Saturday, August 27.

The month ends with another away game as Gate head to Bury AFC on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29 (3pm).

As for AFC Blackpool, their First Division North campaign gets underway at Runcorn Town on July 30 before their first home game comes on August 2 when they host Atherton LR (7.45pm).

August 6 has been set aside for the FA Cup extra preliminary round or the First Division Cup preliminary stage.

League action resumes at Holker Old Boys on August 9 (7.45pm) before AFC welcome Ashton Town on August 13.

Consecutive away games follow against Nelson (August 20) and Steeton (August 29), either side of the FA Vase first qualifying round on August 27.
