Blackpool claimed their fourth league win on the bounce with a 3-0 victory over Burton Albion at Bloomfield Road.

Odel Offiah opened the scoring in the first half, before Rob Apter added the second after the break following a superb solo run into the box.

Lee Evans rounded off the win heading into the closing stages, courtesy of a well taken shot of his own.

It wasn’t all plain sailing for the Seasiders, with Burton passing on a couple of good opportunities, as well as having strong claims for a penalty waved away by the referee.

Blackpool were limited to speculative attempts in the opening exchanges, with both Albie Morgan and Evans unable to hit the target with their early efforts.

Down the other end, the centre back pairing of Offiah and Olly Casey both continued to be a success for Bruce’s side, as the pair swiftly dealt with any attacking opportunities that came the way of the visitors.

One of the Brewers’ clearest chances came the way of Ryan Sweeney - who was unable to test Harry Tyrer after getting on the end of a ball to the back post.

Soon after, the deadlock was broken by the Seasiders through Offiah, with the centre back adjusting his body to produce a stooping header past Max Crocombe after a good free kick into the box from Evans.

Morgan came close to quickly adding another for Blackpool, but his deflected shot fell agonisingly just wide of the post.

Evans also tried his luck again, only for a Burton body to steer the ball wide, after some impressive build-up play to craft the opportunity.

Following a mistake against Charlton Athletic which led to a goal, Tyrer would’ve been relieved to be let off with a similar error, with the Everton loanee parrying a shot from distance into the path of Danilo Orsi, who couldn’t keep his header down on the rebound.

The frustrations of the Brewers striker were increased further ahead of the break, after receiving a yellow card for simulation despite contact being made as he tried to take the ball around the Blackpool keeper.

Following the restart, Bruce’s side strengthened their lead through a moment of magic from Apter. The midfielder skipped past a number of challenges with his quick footwork before slotting past Crocombe.

Burton almost pulled one back instantly only following some sloppy play by Jordan Gabriel, but Ben Whitfield was denied by a great save from Tyrer.

Later in the game, the Seasiders keeper also made an impressive save to stop a header from Udoka Godwin-Malife.

Meanwhile, both CJ Hamilton and Kyle Joseph came close to extending Blackpool’s lead further, with slight deflections stopping both attempts from going in.

The three points were firmly secured in the 75th minute, as Evans’ low-driven shot from the edge of the box found its way in off the inside of the post to round off the win.
