Ex-Birmingham City and Burnley man up for early-season award after impressive Blackpool displays
Blackpool’s Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been nominated for League One’s Player of the Month for August.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s strong early-season form for Blackpool has been recognised with a nomination for League One’s August Player of the Month.
The goalkeeper was a major part of the Seasiders’ strong start to proceedings, with Ian Evatt’s side picking up seven points from their opening three games.
While he was only able to register one clean sheet, which came in a 4-0 victory over Peterborough United, the full extent of his contribution needs a deeper dive.
In the game prior away to Stockport County, the ex-Burnley man made a number of world class saves to help Blackpool to a 2-1 win on the road, with the Hatters’ goal only coming in the closing stages.

This followed a similar performance against Grimsby Town in the first round of the EFL Cup a fortnight before.
Peacock-Farrell initially joined the Seasiders on loan from Birmingham City last summer, before penning a permanent short-term deal following his St. Andrew’s release in January.
The 29-year-old then agreed a further 12-month extension at the start of the summer.
Alongside the Northern Ireland international, a former Blackpool player is among those on the shortlist for League One Player of the Month.
Matthew Pennington spent two seasons at Bloomfield Road, featuring 67 times, before joining Bradford City on a free transfer ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
His contributions in the Bantams’ six points in August, including an assist in a 1-0 victory away to Sheffield Wednesday, has caught the eye.
Meanwhile, the other two contenders come from the opposite end of the pitch.
The Owls’ Jamal Lowe bagged three goals and one assist in the opening month, while Huddersfield Town’s Joe Taylor also found the back of the net three times in three games.
