What a welcome! Truly Scrumptious proves a big attraction for dessert lovers on its expansion into Lytham

A family business which has expanded into Lytham has been thrilled at the welcome it has received from customer its new premises.
The opening of the new Truly Scrumptious desserts shop in Clifton Street - adding to the already established premises in Naze Lane, Freckleton - coincided with Lytham’s annual 1940s weekend and proprietor Michelle Fairclough was delighted at the response.
“What a welcome - we were never without a queue and there have been some lovely comments,” said Michelle.
“We have been looking to expand into Lytham for some time but it was a question of finding the right premises and these are ideal.
“We are a family business, with my son involved all the desserts prepared by my husband and sister-in-law, but we will be looking to get other people on board soon, too.
“We are open until 8pm every day because, as at Freckleton, we feel the evening is a good time for customers, when parking is easier and whereas we close for the winter in Freckleton, the Lytham shop will be open all year round.”

Having always dreamed of running her own shop, Michelle opened at Freckleton in April 2021 and has never looked back.
“We enjoy an amazing set of customers both local and from further afield,” she said.
“We believe we not only provide them with outstanding luxury Italian ice cream and other sweet treats, we do so in a friendly, community-oriented way that we hope is recognised and appreciated by all.”
