Rowdy kids terrorising locals in Lytham town centre on stolen mopeds apprehended by Lancashire Police dogs
“All three bikes were confirmed stolen and on false plates”
Three teenagers were arrested on suspicion of theft when a Lancashire Police Dog used his skills to track them down in a secluded area by a canal.
Fylde Rural Task Force were patrolling the area when they heard an ongoing pursuit with three bikes in Lea Gate, Preston heading towards Fylde.
The bikers tried to evade their chase and turned down a footpath leading down towards the canal. Officers continued their pursuit with PD Duke who followed the scent to a secret area near the canal where he located three abandoned bikes.
A police officer said: “All three bikes were confirmed stolen and on false plates, with the registration plates being stolen from Lytham and Weeton.
“Upon checking CCTV, it transpires these were the same bikes reported driving anti-socially in Lytham earlier that day.”
Two 18-year-old males from Blackpool and a 15-year-old male from Preston were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop for Police.
