Plans approved for exciting Fylde coast milkshake & kids play area site
The plans will now go ahead.
Exciting plans for the Fylde coast’s newest milkshake children’s play spot have been approved by Wyre Borough Council.
The application, which was for a retrospective change of use of agricultural land to for car park, milk sales and play area with seating area (sui generis use), including storage containers, was approved by the council yesterday.
Fern Hill Farm on Cemetery Lane, Preesall will host the site, and milk will be taken from the farm’s 220 cows to produce the shakes. The application is retrospective because milkshake sales have been ongoing from an onsite trailer since 2024.

There were no objections made by any public authorities, and two private objections- lodged by the same individual- were taken into account.
The milkshake trailer will remain in place, and the parking area- which is 17m by 43m- will be made of hardcore. 13 benches will be placed on previously existing grass, and an informal children’s play area will be created too.
The plans will now go ahead whilst the milkshake van continues to operate.
