Blackpool family event cancelled due to weather - everything you need to know
What you need to know...
A family fun day planned for Layton has been postponed following a site inspection, with organisers warning that surface water and further heavy rain could create safety issues.
The Love Where You Live Family Fun Day was due to take place tomorrow, but the event has been postponed after surface water was found at Kingscote Park. Organisers said further heavy rain forecast for tomorrow could create safety issues for visitors, inflatables, stalls and other activities.
However, Layton will still have activities taking place, with Layton Library, Layton Methodist, Blackpool Stanley Rugby Clubhouse at Kingscote Park and LCH - Layton Community House all opening from 10am until at least 1pm.

At Layton Library, visitors can visit the Memories of Layton stall, enjoy reading, take part in a character treasure hunt and family activities, and pick up a free book from the National Literacy Trust.
The Layton Methodist Forward Project will be open from 11am, offering information about Layton Youth Opportunities, activities and the chance for residents to share ideas for future youth provision in the area.
Children already registered for a Fun Day wristband can also collect a free ice cream token from Layton Methodist between 11am and 1pm. The ice cream van will be on site or nearby. Layton Community House will be open for visitors to see the Baby Bank or stop in for tea, coffee and a chat. Blackpool Stanley Rugby Club’s walking rugby session will also go ahead from 10am.
Organisers have said they will announce a new date for the Love Where You Live Family Fun Day through their Facebook and Eventbrite pages. They thanked residents for their understanding following the postponement.
