Met Office issues thunderstorm warning for Blackpool amid large hail, lightning, and flooding forecast
Everything you need to know about the weather warning.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for Blackpool as a band of heavy showers and thunderstorms is expected to move northwards during Wednesday morning.
The Met Office says a drier and brighter period may follow, although there is a chance of further showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon. While many areas are expected to miss the worst of the weather, thunderstorms could be intense where they occur.

The Met Office says 20-30mm of rain could fall in less than an hour, with some locations potentially seeing 40-50mm in two to three hours. This could lead to some surface water flooding. Large hail and frequent lightning are also possible.
The showers and thunderstorms are expected to move northwards and ease during the evening. The yellow weather warning remains in place until 10pm on Wednesday, with a small risk of flooding and disruption from thunderstorms.
The warning has been given a medium impact level, although the likelihood of impacts occurring is rated as very low.
