Latest Fylde Coast weather forecast as winds remain three times stronger than average
Flooding could occur along the coast during today’s high tide
Gusty winds continue to batter the coast this morning in the wake of the weekend storms with a forecast for strong winds throughout the day.
The Met Office says Blackpool will see wind speeds of 44mph this morning more than three times the average speed along the coast, as well as a high 9 metre tide with large waves expected.

The Environment Agency has warned that flooding could also occur during today’s high tide from 10.30am and 12.30pm. The agency said it was closely monitoring the situation as the risk of flooding continued across the Fylde Coast.
Residents and visitors are being urged to take care around the affected coastal areas and avoid coastal roads, footpaths and car parks, which may be flooded.
The outlook for the rest of the week will see conditions begin to settle down from Wednesday as high pressure increasingly begins to influence the UK.
Showers are expected to become less frequent. Winds will also ease for most. The weekend outlook for Blackpool is a welcome break in the wild weather with sunshine and temperatures of 13 or 14 C.
