'It's got a super club feel' - Jason Fubar prepares to launch his new nightclub Soundbox Blackpool

“We've had a few speed bumps on the way, but we've managed to overcome everything and it'll be ready for Saturday.”

Legendary Blackpool DJ Jason Fubar has described the ‘buzz’ he has got from launching his latest nightclub venue ahead of its opening event on Saturday night.

Fubar’s newest vision, Soundbox, will bring an event space venue with a ‘super club’ feel to Blackpool when it launches on Halloween. Located in the former Club Sanuk site, Soundbox boasts three dance-floor rooms, multiple bars and a custom built balcony.

Speaking to the Gazette ahead of Soundbox’s launch in just two days' time, local DJ and entrepreneur Jason Fubar said: “We've had a few speed bumps on the way, but we've managed to overcome everything and it'll be ready for Saturday.”

“It's got that real super club feel to the place, with the balcony around the back of the dance floor. It's got an immersive DJ experience where people are all around the DJ, like you see in Ibiza.

“We've all been quite blessed over the years with the amount of venues we used to have in this town. Blackpool used to be such a mecca of clubbers that unfortunately has fallen by the wayside. It's nice to be able to show people that there are some venues that can cater for more modern styles”

According to Jason, the response to Soundbox has been ‘unbelievable’, and less than 100 tickets remain for Saturday’s launch party. Several superstar DJs will be performing at the Halloween-themed event, including Jesse Bloch, Joe Hunt and Reiss Ruben (the son of Judge Jules).

“I'm doing it for the buzz I get from filling a room, seeing happy smiling faces, people on dance floors,” Jason continued. “There's a lot of troubles in the world at the moment, people are struggling. If we can create a place where people go and forget their troubles for a few hours, I feel like it's done for me.

“My favourite quote in life is you don't get a second chance to make a first impression, that's the whole ethos of what I'm doing with Soundbox. People have got to come in and have an amazing experience and go away going, 'Wow, what a venue,” he added.
