Historic Fylde coast bakery hits back after wave of social media hate
We’re just trying to keep Lord Street alive because so many shops have closed.”
A historic Fylde coast bakery has hit back after a series of negative social media comments and reviews accused the business of using cheap products and ingredients.
Scotch Bakery, located on Lord Street in Fleetwood, is one of the town’s oldest independent businesses. The negative comments came after a post was made in the Fleetwood Nosey Bazzers Facebook page.
Commenting on the situation, Scotch Bakery manager Michelle, said: “As owners of the company we felt as though we had to put a post out on Facebook explaining the situation.

“It started with a certain individual posting on Facebook, saying that our sausages weren’t up to scratch, even though they are from a reputable local butchers. We never cut corners and always use top end products, but everyone sort of jumped on the bandwagon and started commenting.”
“Overall, I'm glad we've put that post out because we've got some really positive feedback now from it,” Michelle added.
“Thank you to everyone who has given us our support. We're a local bakery, we're not funded by anyone. We’re just trying to keep Lord Street alive because so many shops have closed. Scotch has been here a long time, and it's good to keep the business going.”
