Protective seagull sparks danger warning at Flakefleet Primary School
Diversions in place for pupils and staff and coffee shop closed as seagull protects chick
Bird terror stalked an entrance to a Fylde coast school as pupils and staff arrived today for the penultimate day of the school year.
Flakefleet Primary in Fleetwood issued an alert on social media that a very protective seagull had been swooping down on anyone going anywhere near its chick around the Key Stage 1 gates.

The message continued: “We politely ask that all parents use the KS2 gate and all nurseries use the pre-school entrance for now.”
The school, in Northfeet Avenue, also advised that, as a result, its Strive coffee shop would be closed for the day and that a deep clean would be undertaken.

There was also a plea for help from anyone who might know how to remove the seagull.
“If anyone can help with this little challenge, please do shout,” said the school’s message. “Thanks in advance for your understanding - please be vigilant on the way in!”
