Fleetwood Hall Care Home praised for personalised approach after latest Care Quality Commission inspection
“It seems to run like clockwork.”
A Fleetwood care home has been praised for its kind, personalised care, positive relationships between residents and staff, and strong leadership after receiving a ‘Good’ rating across all five areas assessed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Fleetwood Hall, on Chatsworth Avenue, which is part of Sandstone Care Group, was rated ‘Good’ overall and in each of the five key areas of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The home, which provides residential care for up to 62 older people, including those living with dementia, was praised for creating a welcoming and supportive environment where residents feel safe, valued and involved in decisions about their care.

Inspectors highlighted the warm relationships between residents and staff, noting that people received personalised care from colleagues who knew them well and treated them with kindness and respect.
In one particularly touching example, inspectors observed a resident greeting the activities coordinator with open arms, saying ‘I've been waiting all day to see you. I've missed you.’ The report noted that the interaction demonstrated how comfortable, valued and emotionally connected residents felt to the staff supporting them.
Inspectors also praised the home's leadership and management, highlighting a positive culture where residents, relatives and staff felt listened to and supported. One resident told inspectors: “The manager is on top of everything, she is doing a terrific job”. A relative added: “It seems to run like clockwork.”
The report also recognised the home's commitment to maintaining residents' independence, encouraging participation in activities and supporting people to continue enjoying the interests that matter to them. Inspectors found that staff responded promptly to changing needs, worked effectively with healthcare professionals and provided sensitive, compassionate support.
Mealtimes were another positive feature, with inspectors observing that staff were encouraging and polite, nobody was rushed and residents enjoyed the food. The CQC report also highlighted the home's effective systems for managing medicines, maintaining cleanliness and infection prevention, and ensuring residents received appropriate nutrition and healthcare support.
Inspectors concluded that residents received safe, personalised care, with effective management and quality assurance arrangements supporting continuous improvement.

Lucy Holl, managing director of Sandstone Care Group, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Fleetwood Hall has achieved a Good rating across all five areas of its CQC assessment.
“What makes this report particularly special is the recognition of the relationships between our residents and colleagues. The example of a resident being so pleased to see a member of the activities team really captures what good care is all about. Care is about so much more than meeting people's practical needs.
“It is about making sure they feel safe, happy, respected and valued, and that they have opportunities to enjoy life and maintain their independence. I am particularly pleased that inspectors recognised the positive culture at Fleetwood Hall and the strong leadership that underpins the care being delivered.
“This is a wonderful reflection of the dedication, compassion and professionalism of the entire team, and I want to thank every colleague for the difference they make to residents and their families every day.
“We are very proud of this achievement, and we will continue building on the positive findings to ensure Fleetwood Hall remains a place where people can enjoy the best possible quality of life.”
