Excitement is building at Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort, with the grand opening of the new £8.72m mega ride Aviktas now just 25 days away.
With the countdown on, excitement amongst visitors and locals alike is building, adding to the clamour for the towering new attraction. Controlled swing testing begun earlier this year, giving fans the first glimpses of what promises to be one of the most thrilling additions to the Blackpool skyline.

When complete, Aviktas will soar 138ft into the air, sending 40 riders arcing 120 degrees over the coastline and making it the tallest ride of its kind in the UK.
Construction has been a spectacle in itself. Visitors have watched in awe as four colossal 16-tonne legs were installed and the ride’s striking golden arm fitted, each stage transforming the seafront and establishing Aviktas as one of the resort’s most eye-catching new landmarks in recent years.
The excitement extends beyond the ride itself as well. During the build, more than 200 letters, ride memorabilia, blueprints, and hidden “Easter eggs” were sealed beneath the site in a specially-created time capsule, capturing the imagination of fans and promising a little surprise for future generations.
With less than a month to go, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is counting down to the moment when thrill-seekers can finally experience the dizzying heights of Aviktas for themselves...
