'Always great to welcome you back' - Blackpool Airport thanks Arsenal FC for visit

“Always great to welcome you back, and we hope you had a fantastic visit to Blackpool.”

Blackpool Airport has thanked Arsenal FC for flying to the Fylde coast on Tuesday, describing the visit as ‘a pleasure’.

The Premier League champions were on the Fylde coast for their EFL Cup 4th-round fixture against Fleetwood Town, which ended in a ‘miraculous’ victory on penalties for the Cod Army.

Arsenal chartered a Boeing 737 and flew the 250-mile journey from London to Blackpool on Tuesday, landing at 11.57am. They also flew back South after the game, departing just after midnight.

Blackpool Airport’s Hangar Three has now described the experience as a ‘pleasure’, adding that they hoped Arsenal would be able to return in the future. “It was an absolute pleasure looking after 2 Excel Aviation and their Boeing 737-700 yesterday,” a spokesperson said.

“Always great to welcome you back, and we hope you had a fantastic visit to Blackpool. Thank you for choosing Hangar 3 and Blackpool Airport for your stay, hopefully it won’t be too long until we have the pleasure of welcoming you back again.”
