We're excited to represent the North West in Britain in Bloom awards 2026
Catterall village is set to represent the entire North West in the prestigious 2026 National Britain in Bloom Awards, following its recent success as the region’s most sustainable large village.
Excitement is blooming in Catterall as the village has been selected to represent the North West in the 2026 National Britain in Bloom Awards.
This prestigious recognition follows the village’s recent triumph as the most sustainable large village in the North West and organisers are determined to take their achievements to an even higher level next year.
Volunteers are already gearing up to ensure that Catterall shines on the national stage. From tending flower beds and planting displays to maintaining public spaces, their hard work will be crucial in bringing the village up to the highest possible standard.
Organisers are keen to welcome new volunteers, inviting local residents to get involved and support the effort in any way they can.
The Britain in Bloom competition recognises not only the beauty of local green spaces but also sustainability, community engagement and environmental stewardship.
A spokesperson from Catteral in Bloom on Facebook, said: “Exciting news for Catterall as our village has been chosen to represent the whole of the North West for the National Britain in Bloom Awards in 2026.
“All the volunteers will be working harder than ever next year to bring the village up to the highest standard possible.
“After winning the award for the most sustainable large village in the North West this year, we will be continuing our work in this area as well and hope this gives us an edge.
“New volunteers are always made very welcome and we hope that we can have as much help and support from local residents as possible.”
Catterall’s previous award for sustainability highlights the village’s commitment to eco-friendly practices which the team hopes will give them an edge in the national competition.
The volunteers’ dedication to green initiatives, such as reducing waste and promoting biodiversity, will continue to be a focal point of their entry.
Many residents have contributed ideas, resources, and hands-on help in past projects and organisers are encouraging everyone to join in, whether through volunteering, fundraising, or simply cheering the team on.
