Community CVS provides free business training courses, covering a range of vital issues. The sessions are funded by Lancashire County Council - and would otherwise cost up to £5,000.

Ofsted said participants “gain substantial leadership and business knowledge skills” and that they “enjoy their learning and value the inclusive and welcoming environment”.

Get your spring Covid‑19 booster vaccination

Eligible Lancashire residents are being invited for their spring Covid‑19 booster vaccination.

The twice-yearly programme is now open to adults aged 75 and over, residents of older adult care homes and people aged six months and over who are considered to be immunosuppressed.

High street pharmacies also now offer a paid-for jab to anyone not entitled to a free shot on the NHS.

Dr Paula Cowan, GP and Regional Medical Director for Primary Care at NHS England in the North West said: “Protection against Covid‑19 decreases over time, so this spring’s vaccination offer is an important opportunity for those most at risk to boost their immunity.

“Getting this extra dose reduces your risk of becoming very unwell, helps you recover faster if you do catch it, and reduces the chance of needing hospital treatment.”
