Capital gains for Fylde Hockey Club’s U12 girls
Fylde Hockey Club’s U12 girls faced the best of the rest from across the country when they represented the North West in a national final last weekend.
Fylde’s players made the journey to London, having qualified after winning the North West in2 Hockey Tournament earlier this month.

They finished eighth on the day, having faced some tough competition from much bigger clubs elsewhere.
Cambridge, Surbiton and Stourport were Fylde’s opponents and, although they didn’t win the tournament, the players all had a great experience.
The Fylde team, coached by Rebecca Worthington, had won the North West tournament after facing strong competition from some of the region’s biggest clubs in Manchester.
They finished top of their group, beating Wigton with a confident display in the final to complete the competition unbeaten.
Speaking ahead of the trip to London and reflecting on their regional success, Worthington said: “The girls played remarkably well.
“Their teamwork and determination have been fantastic and we’re all looking forward to our trip down south to showcase what Fylde Hockey Club is all about.”
The club is based at Mill Farm and welcomes new players of all ages. Full details are available at www.fyldehc.com
