Right-back Edwards has been recalled by Stoke City, cutting short his season-long loan deal.

Goalkeeper Hilton spent a week at Town as an emergency loan from Blackburn Rovers.

Edwards, who turns 22 on Friday, made 12 appearances after joining Fleetwood in mid-October, 11 of them in League One.

His last appearance came in the draw at Crewe Alexandra on Boxing Day. The club state he has been unavailable for the three games since Simon Wiles became interim boss due to injury.

Championship club Stoke say they have recalled Edwards with a view to loaning him out again.

Hilton, 21, has played in all three Town games in 2021, all of which have ended in defeat.

Joel Coleman has resumed training with Town, having missed almost the whole season so far due to injury, while fellow senior keeper Alex Cairns has been isolating after a positive Covid test.
