League One line-up set after play-off results with fresh away days confirmed for Blackpool FC

Blackpool have several fresh away days to look forward to next season.

The League One line-up for the 2026/27 has been complete - with plenty of fresh away days in store for Blackpool.

Across the weekend, the various EFL play-off finals took place to confirm the final spots in each division next season.

Hull City returned to the Premier League after beating Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Championship showpiece occasion, while Bolton Wanderers will step up to the second tier after claiming a 4-1 victory over Stockport County on Sunday afternoon.

Rúben Rodrigues bagged a brace, while Sam Dalby was also on the scoresheet as the Trotters took the third League One promotion slot.

The final play-off final of the Bank Holiday took place on Monday afternoon, as Notts County overcame Salford City 3-0 to get out of the fourth tier.

Alassana Jatta, Lucas Ness and Jodi Jones were all on the scoresheet for the Magpies, whose head coach Martin Paterson was a Seasiders player back in the 2015/16 campaign.

Blackpool’s last trip to Meadow Lane came a year after the 39-year-old’s Bloomfield Road exit.

A Richard Duffy goal proved to be the difference between the two sides in April 2017, but the 1-0 defeat didn’t stop Gary Bowyer’s then side from reaching the play-offs and ultimately winning promotion.

That Seasiders squad included another members of Notts County’s current coaching team, with goalkeeper Sam Slocombe now a first-team coach under Paterson.

Here’s a look at the other new away days for the Seasiders next term:

Oxford United were relegated from the Championship following a two-year stay in the second tier, after winning promotion via the play-offs in 2024.

Blackpool’s last trip to the Kassam came back in October 2023, and ended in a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Jordan Rhodes equaliser.

A decade on from winning the Premier League, Leicester City have dropped back down to the third tier, in what is a second relegation in the space of two years for the 2021 FA Cup winners.

The Seasiders’ last visited the King Power Stadium back in 2014 in the Championship, as they suffered a 3-1 defeat.

Sheffield Wednesday’s relegation from the Championship came due to substantial sanctions for going into administration and other financial breaches, as they finished the campaign on 0 points.

Blackpool last played at Hillsborough on Boxing Day in 2014, and were on the end of a 1-0 loss.

Bromley

Bromley have reached the third tier for the first time in their history after winning the League Two title on 87 points.

The Seasiders have faced Bromley just once in their history - with that meeting coming in the FA Cup back in 2023, as Neil Critchley’s-then side recorded a 2-0 win at Hayes Lane to progress from the first round.

MK Dons

Cambridge United have returned to League One at the first time of asking, and secured their promotion with a third place finish.

On the Seasiders’ last trip to the Abbey Stadium, the contest finished in a 4-4 draw in August 2024 - with Richard Keogh in caretaker charge of the visitors.
