We take a look at what’s happened to the players that featured for Neil McDonald’s side on that fateful day at London Road, which confirmed the second of Pool’s back-to-back relegations.
1. Colin Doyle
Doyle famously left the Seasiders in the summer of 2016 to join Bradford City for just 1 after the Bantams triggered a release clause in his contract. Hes now backup goalkeeper for Scottish side Hearts.
2. Hayden White
The defender spent the season on loan with the Seasiders from Bolton Wanderers. He left Bolton to join Peterborough United in 2016, before enjoying a loan spell with Mansfield Town. He signed permanently for the Stags a year later.
3. Tom Aldred
After helping Pool achieve promotion back to League One at the first attempt, the centre back left to join Bury before enjoying a spell north of the border with Motherwell. Now plys his trade in Australia with Brisbane Roar, who are managed by Robbie Fowler.
4. Clark Robertson
Out of contract at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, the defender opted to leave and join Rotherham United. He remains at the New York Stadium and has since been joined by former teammate Curtis Tilt. Scored for the Millers at Bloomfield Road earlier in the season.
5. Luke Higham
A former Blackpool season ticket holder, Higham was released by his boyhood club in 2017 after making just a handful of appearances. Snapped up by Fylde coast neighbours Fleetwood Town, the defender is now on loan with non-league side FC United.
6. Jim McAlister
The Scots time with Blackpool came to an end in the summer of 2018 after the midfielder struggled to get back in the side after suffering a nasty leg break in a 1-1 draw against Colchester United. He rejoined his first club Greenock Morton in 2018, where he remains.
