Blackpool boss explains end of trial for ex-Reading and Barnsley man
Andy Yiadom’s trial spell with Blackpool has come to an end following several weeks with Ian Evatt’s squad.
Ian Evatt has wished Andy Yiadom well for the future following the end of his trial period with Blackpool.
The defender linked up with the Seasiders ahead of their pre-season camp in Girona at the backend of last month, before featuring in friendlies against both AFC Fylde and Tranmere Rovers.
Earlier this week, the 34-year-old parted ways with the Fylde Coast outfit, with his exit confirmed by his absence at Holker Street for Saturday’s game against Barrow.

Yiadom is a free agent after being released by Reading at the conclusion of his contract last month, having been at the Select Car Leasing Stadium since 2018.
In 253 appearances for the Royals, including 29 in League One last term, he scored four goals and provided 12 assists.
The right back’s career started in the youth ranks of Watford, before spending time in non-league with Hayes & Yeading United and Braintree Town, prior to stints with Barnet and Barnsley.
Discussing Yiadom’s exit, Blackpool head coach Evatt said: “He did great for us, and I can’t speak highly enough of him as a person and what he’s done for us in pre-season so far.
“We’re working through our recruitment targets, and they have to fit what we want and require as a football club, and what our playing identity is.
“We made the call to not do anything with that one, but that doesn’t mean there’s not things in the pipeline behind-the-scenes either.”
