I understand the Seasiders are working on one possible incoming ahead of the 11pm deadline.

Still no word on Josh Bowler, but I’m assuming it remains on track. I’ve not heard anything to suggest otherwise.

What you need to know about Zak Emmerson

Blackpool have completed the transfer deadline day signing of Brighton forward Zak Emmerson.

The 18-year-old, who will initially link up with the club’s development squad, has arrived for an undisclosed fee.

The forward has put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract at Bloomfield Road, which includes the option of a further year.

A striker, Emmerson has recently been playing his football for Brighton’s Under-21 side having made the move from Oldham Athletic in 2020.

He made his debut for the Latics in October 2019 at the age of 15, becoming the second youngest footballer in EFL history.

Emmerson was just 28 days older than Reuben Noble-Lazarus when he played for Barnsley against Ipswich in September 2008.

He made three appearances in total during the 2019/20 season.

The forward has also made two appearances for England’s Under-18 side after making his international debut against Wales in September 2021.

The former Manchester United academy product scored 20 goals in 26 appearances for Brighton’s Under-18 side last season.

Still awaiting official confirmation, but sounds like Josh Bowler is a done deal.

Had to happen during the final minutes, didn't it? 💔

11pm: The transfer window is now closed

Technically the transfer window is now closed as we pass the 11pm cut off.

But clubs can still announce signings after the deadline, so it’s worth holding on.

The Josh Bowler deal is done by all accounts, it just needs announcing.

The incoming I mentioned before should also be confirmed very shortly.

Blackpool fans had to remain patient, but they finally got their reward with a signing for the first-team arriving through the door.

Does it make up for Josh Bowler’s departure? Absolutely not. But by all accounts Callum Wright is a very tidy player.
