'Not something I'd like' - Blackpool FC boss makes stance clear on talk around Charlton Athletic man

Karoy Anderson impressed while on loan with Blackpool last season.

Ian Evatt states he won’t be drawn into commenting on Blackpool’s interest in Karoy Anderson.

The Charlton Athletic midfielder is among the Seasiders’ summer targets following his impressive loan spell in Tangerine last term.

After arriving on the Fylde Coast at the beginning of February, the 21-year-old made 16 appearances in League One, with a goal coming on his debut away to Huddersfield Town.

The Jamaica international truly started to impress towards the end of his stint, as he helped Evatt’s side to League One survival.

His energy in the midfield led his manager to describe him as a ‘pressing monster,’ with a partnership with Jordan Brown helping both players to flourish.

Despite still being a young player, a limited amount of minutes at the Valley in the first half of last term suggests he’s not part of Nathan Jones’ plans.

The majority of Anderson’s 88 outings for the Addicks since his senior debut in 2022 have come in the third tier - including an appearance off the bench in the 2025 play-off final victory over Leyton Orient at Wembley.

While Blackpool being linked with the Charlton man this summer is natural, Evatt is staying away from discussing the topic publicly.

“I’m not going to comment on other people’s players at the moment,” he said.

“If someone was talking about my players, it’s not something I’d like, so I don’t want to do the same.

“Obviously Karoy is a top player, and we had him last season, but that’s all I’m going to say on the matter at the moment.”
