The full League One schedule returns this weekend following the international break - with Blackpool taking on Barnsley at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat away to Mansfield Town earlier this month, and build on the good work done in Steve Bruce’s short time in charge on the Fylde Coast so far.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, Barnsley will be hoping for an injury boost following the absence of Adam Phillips in their last two outings.

The midfielder has been key for the Tykes so far this season, scoring five goals in eight appearances in League One so far.

Prior to the international break, it was expected that the 26-year-old would be fit again to take on Blackpool after a toe problem; bar any setbacks in the build-up.

Josh Benson could be a doubt for Darrell Clarke’s side after being forced off with a tight hamstring in his last outing, while Max Watters has been absent for the Reds’ last five games.

In terms of the Seasiders, Dom Ballard will return to contention following a shoulder injury after featuring twice for England U20s either side of the weekend.

Hayden Coulson should also be able to make a return after a blow to the ribs against Lincoln City at the beginning of the month.

Meanwhile, Elkan Baggott and Ollie Norburn were both expected to return to the grass at the start of the international period, so should be close to featuring again in the next few weeks.
