AFC Fylde players stuck to their plan well to pick up three points
Craig Mahon said victory was all that mattered after watching his AFC Fylde players return to winning ways in midweek.
Having suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time this season, the Coasters were 5-2 winners against Peterborough Sports at Mill Farm on Tuesday.

Two goals each from Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile and Jon Ustabasi, along with another for Danny Ormerod, gave Fylde the spoils.
The win also saw Mahon’s squad cut the gap on National League North leaders South Shields to six points, with Fylde also having a game in hand as the final third of the season looms.
Speaking after Tuesday’s victory, head coach Mahon told the Coasters’ media team: “The main thing is we win the game.
“We know how Tuesday nights are tough. The weather’s cold, the lads have probably been waiting around all day, sometimes it takes a lot to motivate themselves, but they’ve done exactly what we asked of them.
“We had a game plan, they executed it and it worked really well. We trained really well and we showed them where we thought we could hurt them, how we thought we could score goals.
“Obviously conceding two is frustrating – and in the manner we conceded as well – but that’s for myself and the staff to work on, but we’ve come away with three points so that’s the main thing.
“At times, the lads were playing a standard and a quality that was so good and it was lovely to watch.
“We’ve just got to make sure that we don’t become complacent and I think that’s where (Peterborough’s) two goals come from.”
