Following 1-0 losses to Oxford City in the league and to Southport in the last 16 of the FA Trophy on Saturday, Fylde flew out of the traps as Danny Mayor's driving runs caused all sorts of problems.

And they were ahead after only 10 minutes, when Lincoln McFayden's wonderful delivery picked out winger Felipe for a header at the far post.

And the 19-year-old Argentina youth international, signed on loan from Preston North End last week, doubled his tally five minutes before half-time, when he was popped up at the back post again to squeeze the ball past keeper Peter Crook.

Ormerod slammed home Fylde's third three minutes later, adding to his brace at Peterborough in September.

Three down at the break, Phil Brown’s side pulled one back within a minute of the restart, Shaquile Coulthirst tapping in after Zac Jones saved Marcel Oakley's strike.

But Fylde’s three-goal lead was restored on 53 minutes, when Ustabasi found the corner of the net from Ormerod's drilled pass.

Felipe was inches away from a hat-trick, when he took aim for the bottom corner from the edge of the area only to see Crook tip the ball round the post brilliantly.

But Fylde did score Fylde's fifth on 63 minutes, Ustabasi curling a wonderful effort into the far corner. It was a fine night for the forward as he was named man of the match and celebrated his partner's pregnancy.

George Wilson and Max Taylor went close to adding a sixth but it was Peterborough who scored the final goal courtesy of substitute Maliq Cadogn's deflected effort eight minutes from time.

The win leaves Fylde six points behind South Shields with a game in hand.

They are back at Mill Farm next Tuesday to face Spennymoor Town after Saturday's trip to Hereford, who the Coasters have defeated at home this season in league and cup.
