The 26-year-old is the sixth summer arrival as manager James Rowe reshapes the squad at his disposal.

“There are many reasons for this, but it is now about him looking forwards, focusing on what he can control and working to his maximum – our environment will allow him to do this.”

Walker added: “I spoke to the manager after the season finished and said I’d like to come back and, hopefully, we can chase that automatic promotion now.”

Walker’s arrival came after the Coasters also announced the appointment of Dan Crofts as the club’s head of goalkeeping.

Stepping up from his role as school services manager with the AFC Fylde Community Trust, Crofts will work alongside first-team shot-stopper Chris Neal as well as the Academy keepers.

Fylde have also revealed their final two pre-season friendlies going into the 2022/23 National League North campaign.

The Coasters head to Atherton Collieries on July 9 for their first warm-up game (3pm) before hosting Lancaster City behind closed doors on July 16.

Those matches are in addition to the previously announced games against FC Halifax Town (July 12), Arbroath (July 20), Warrington Rylands (July 26) and Oldham Athletic (July 30).
