The trams seen here in Talbot Square are on the Marton route, which followed Clifton Street, Church Street and Whitegate Drive. The foundation stone for the drinking fountain, with it's elaborate cast iron canopy, was laid in 1870 by William Henry Cocker. The fountain was demolished in the 1920s and was later replaced by a large tram shelter. | National World
