'Vibrant part of our community'- St Annes celebrates one year on from £3m investment

“It has been wonderful to see the Square become such a vibrant part of our community over the past year.”

St Annes is marking one year since the completion of its £3 million town square regeneration which transformed the heart of the town.

The space was restored at a cost of £3.13 million by Fylde Council in 2025, and St Annes centre has seen an 8% increase in footfall compared to August 2024.

Over 277,000 people are estimated to have visited St Annes centre over the last 12 months according to Fylde Council Leader, Councillor Karen Buckley. She said: “It has been wonderful to see the Square become such a vibrant part of our community over the past year. From live music and dancing to markets and festivals, residents and visitors have truly embraced this fantastic space.

“This is exactly the kind of investment that makes a real difference to our town, and we look forward to welcoming even more people to enjoy everything the Square has to offer.

“Residents and visitors can look forward to an exciting programme of events continuing through the summer and into the autumn.”

Last year’s refurbishment, which coincided with the town’s 150 year anniversary, provided a venue for a large number of community festivals and activities during the last year.

St Annes Music Festival, the annual Kite Festival, Fylde Fest; Spring into Life and other events all benefited from the regeneration project.
